VASSILIOS (BILL) KARAVAS Vassilios Bill Karavas of Brandon, passed away in Brandon on Sunday, July 8, 2007. Bill was born at Bouzi, Corinthos, Greece, on March 17, 1943. He enjoyed playing soccer in his youth. In 1963, he came to Canada and worked with his Uncle Gus Pappas at Union Shoe Store in Brandon. He eventually operated the store with his cousin Robert Pappas. Bill was a member of the Kiwanis Club for several years and was also a member of A.H.E.P.A. Bill was a very generous man; helping many people during his years in Brandon. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Chrissoula; daughter Fotina (Christopher) Collom; son Demetri (Heather) Karavas; one brother Bob Karavas and a sister Anastasia Valais. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Demetrios and Fotina Karavas. Prayers will be said at Memories Chapel, 330-18th Street North, Brandon, on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Memories Chapel on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 1:00 p.m., Fr. John Nickolaou will officiate. Interment will follow in the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society - Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 9Z9.
